Prayer Letter From Joel, February 19, 2005

Dear ones in Christ,

We all have time slots that are constants, and others in which we have liberty to chose what we do with them. Ironically, in Peru it seems the other way around as nothing seems to be constant! But of both we will give account to the Lord of. The constants we are to do as a service for the Lord. And how we use the options reveals what sort of person we are...and the intentions of our hearts will be revealed. There is nothing hidden that will not come to light.

Thank you for praying for the month long training program we had here in Lima. The last two weeks especially were a marathon for me as I had 7 classes a day, and none of them were on the same floor! They now have enough material to digest and use for the next year before we come together again. For the first year students I concentrate on giving them systematic theology classes in order to give them basic definitions they will find in the Bible. The graduate class of 7 members are past definitions and are starting to use them in the study of the Epistles. Pray for this ongoing effort.

My next assignment from the Lord is to spend a week with my home assembly in Belmar, N.J. (Feb. 25th though Mar. 4th). Pray that I will have significant contact with saints I don't see very often!

From there I go to Honduras for 6 weeks. Another month of intensive Bible study with seminary students there; a week of young people's camp (that would be 4 classes a day!); and a week of meetings at a local assembly while the students are doing their practical work.

Pray for the work here while I'm away. Especially the Gospel meetings in my house; where on Wednesday there is a ladies meeting, and on Friday night a Bible study for the neighbors. Also pray for the 1600+ Gospel calendars given out to friends and neighbors in Covida, around my house, and around the chapel property.

With the tender affection of Jesus Christ,

Joel Clark
